Abstract:

This study aimed to review the literature on the satisfaction measures in the field of coaches. The following instruments were presented: the Job Descriptive Index (JDI), the Job in General (JIG), the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ), the Coach Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ), Weiss & Stevens’ questionnaire, the Employ satisfaction Inventory (ESI), Li Questionnaire, Job Diagnostic Survey (JDS) and Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS). The study revealed that it would be useful to develop a special instrument for measuring job satisfaction in Greek coaches. Apart from satisfaction with pay, co-workers, supervision and safety (factors that refer to the most important facets of job satisfaction and are also included in most of the satisfaction measures), it would be useful to investigate whether more factors as work complexity, recognition, organizational support and leader behavior should be included in the instrument as well.
