Hotel animation is considered as an area of professional activity for sports and recreation graduates and sport managers. The aim of this paper was to analyse hotel animation as a new source of employment in Greece. The methods included literature review, content analysis of hotel indexes and a national survey on the profile of employers and employees in hotel animation. Major disadvantages exist (seasonality, relocation, and instability) for the attraction of well-educated Greek employees in hotel animation positions. Despite problems, there are possibilities for professional advancement and opportunities to create a quality hotel product and new jobs.
