The global sports industry (including sports and Olympic organizations) has grown in recent years, despite the economic crisis. Moreover, this growth has made the sports and Olympic organizations highly competitive in a turbulent economic environment where the rational allocation and utilization of their resources presupposes the existence and the implementation of a modern way of organizing and managing their activities. Many writers have found that modern business management systems such as strategic planning and entrepreneurial leadership could be a solution for the problems that service organizations, such as sports and Olympic organizations face. The purpose of this study was to examine: (a) the extent to which the 14 points of the Deming Management Method, which stems from the private business sector, can be applied to the management of the sports and Olympic organizations, and (b) the contribution of the implementation of the Deming Management Method to the enhancement of quality of sports and Olympic organizations.
